Towards more responsible tourism
Because sustainable development is now part and parcel of our lives, we invite you to travel in a more responsible way, as a counterweight to mass tourism: in smaller groups, more human and more open to others, consuming less and showing more respect for the planet.
To that end, on our side, we have put in place:
- Few pitches, but all of them very large, and eco-designed accommodations, mainly in canvas or timber, and without air conditioning.
- A wooded park, with protected riverbanks and biodiversity. Most of the grounds are grass, not concrete.
- A replanting programme — many ash trees and shrubs planted —, restrained mowing and natural hedges humming with life. The riverbanks are a wonderful garden for watching insects, amphibians and fish.
- No swimming pool and no noisy entertainment, to spare local residents and local wildlife any disturbance. But a well-being area with spa and sauna, an all-timber structure that fits perfectly into its natural surroundings.
- The choice to invest in what exists rather than in the new: recanvassing the yurts and the Wigwam, refurbishing the mobile home and the wooden cabins, second-hand Mongolian furniture in all our yurts.
- Water and energy savings, LED and solar lighting, waste management with a composter and sorting.
- Open fires and barbecues strictly forbidden, to prevent any risk of wildfire.
- Cleaning products that are kinder to the environment and food from short supply chains. The list of local producers is on our site.
- Getting around the campsite is done solely by electric buggy, by bike or on foot.
- Promoting local tourism businesses and providing information on soft mobility nearby: walking, cycling and riding trails, bus timetables.
- Sharing what we know of the Pays de Lamastre, from the crayfish spots to other places where you can watch, far from the rest of the world, the majesty of the heron.
And even a small herb and medicinal garden.
In short, a friendly campsite that keeps its carbon footprint small for the sake of its exceptional surroundings.
